An International Competition Honoring Excellence in Communication

Birthmark Designs is honored with the Crystal Award of Excellence for the Raleigh Red Wolf Ramble Book, published in May 2002.

The Communicator Awards is an international awards competition that recognizes outstanding work in the communications field. Entries are judged by industry professionals who look for companies and individuals whose talent exceeds a high standard of excellence and whose work serves as a benchmark for the industry. There were ~4,000 entries from throughout the US and several foreign countries in this 2003 Print Media competition. The Communicator's prestigious Award of Excellence is presented to those entrants whose ability to communicate places them among the best in their field. About 10 percent of the entries won this award. Winners were announced April 10, 2003.

The City of Raleigh Arts Commission

This specialized plaque was presented to Jenna Washburn, of Birthmark Designs, at the City Council Meeting on June 18, 2002, for the volunteer work she devoted to the publication of the Raleigh Red Wolf Ramble Book. The 128 page layout displayed all 102 wolves with a personalized message from each artist. Working on a team of five highly motiated volunteera, Jenna served as Creative Director and Chair of the committee. The committee assembled in January of '02 and was completed by early May that same year.
